This painting represents the spring time of the year. This is the time of year when the older growth prepares for the newer growth. New life emerges from the long winter's sleep.
 
I use the tree as my symbol because for me it shows my teachings that I carry with me from my ancestors that were carried down by my Grandfather. The tree is our link to the forest and a strong link to Mother Earth. The tree gives us life in so many ways. Her roots help cleanse the water, her leaves the air. And when the tree physically dies it provides nutrients to the soil so that new growth can begin again. 
 
The whole cycle is renewed. That circle in life.
