Title: The Grandmothers, acrylic
The Grandmothers is just as it's name tells, a painting in honor of our Grandmothers. Those women who loved us from day one; passed on our culture; and were always there. There are four Grandmothers represented through peaked cap designs similar to those found at the sacred petroglyph sites in the Keji area of Nova Scotia. And those caps are placed in the four sacred directions infront of the sun.
