  2. three feathers hanging, with brown leather cord & barrel clasp
  3. without feathers, with black leather cord, no clasp (ties)

These necklaces are handmade from moose antler, with other materials used; glass beads, leather or nylon cord, metal feathers, etc.  The images seen on these necklaces is handpainted (acrylics) and known as the Seven Mi'kmaq Districts petroglyph image. (a petroglyph is an ancient rock carving etched in stone). 

The districts were spread out between what is now known as Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and P.E.I. These districts each had a Chief that overseen that area.  The seven Mi'kmaq Districts in "Mi'kma'ki", the Mi'kmaq homeland are as follows:

  • Kespukwitk or Lands End
  • Sipekni'kutik or Wild Potato Area
  • Eskikewa'kik or Skin Dressers Territory
  • Siknikt or Drainage Area
  • Kespek or Last Water
  • Epekwitk aq Piktuk or Lying in the water and The Explosive Place
  • Unama'kik or Mi'kmaw Territory
