Description from the artist: When I initially started this painting I thought that I would have to finish it in spurts. Once I started painting I couldn't stop, the thoughts and energy kept flowing towards the tip of my paintbrush. I wanted to create something simple to honor the spirit women that surround us daily. I looked to the petroglyphs left by my ancestors (also known as ancient rock carvings) for guidance and inspiration. I used symbols to show not only the strength that these spirits have, but the beauty.
